Frederick County Public Schools substitute teacher arrested on child porn charges

A former Frederick County Public Schools substitute teacher was arrested in March 2021 and charged with multiple counts of possessing and distributing child pornography.

27-year-old Daniel Elieze Valentin-Morales was charged with six counts of distribution of child pornography and six counts of possession of child pornography, the Frederick-News Post reported Friday.

Valentin-Morales is being held without bond at the Frederick County Detention Center, according to authorities.

On Friday, Emily Simpson recalled in a Facebook post that when Valentin-Morales substitute taught at her daughter’s school “a couple of years ago,” he left a note at her daughter’s school desk.

“Text me, cutie,” the note said, with an attached phone number. The note was signed, “Secret Admirer.”

Simpson on Friday posted to her Facebook thread the note Valentin-Morales wrote her daughter. A Miner Detail confirmed the phone number is active and links to an online service or an app, similar to Google Voice, which cannot be traced.

A Miner Detail reached out to Simpson and is awaiting comment to confirm additional details from the incident.

Last year, A Miner Detail reported that Frederick County Public Schools investigated allegations that a Carroll Manor Elementary School teacher was abusive to students, according to multiple sources, including parents whose children attended the school at the time.

This story will be updated when additional details are made available.
