Washington County’s chief financial officer, Sara L. Greaves, was cited earlier this year for driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol per se, according to Maryland court records.
Greaves, 31, was pulled over on March 5 around 1:20 a.m. by Maryland State Police Senior Trooper William R. Talbert at 100 Eastern Blvd near the Hagerstown City Fire Department, Maryland online court records show.
She was charged with driving a 2013 gray Honda Odyssey under the influence of alcohol per se, driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, driving a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and “failure to display lighted lamps on a highway, illuminating device in unfavorable visibility conditions,” the charging documents state.
Greaves was approved as the county’s new chief financial officer in February by The Washington County Board of Commissioners after former Washington County CFO Debra Murray was involuntarily terminated on Oct. 24 of last year. Her annual salary was set at $92,435.
According to court documents, Greaves is due in Washington County District Court tomorrow, Aug. 8, at 8:30 a.m. for a scheduled hearing/trial. She has retained Hagerstown attorney David Charles Harbin to represent her in this matter.
Washington County’s Director of Public Relations & Marketing, Danielle Weaver, told A Miner Detail yesterday that “The County does not speak to personal matters” when questioned about Greaves.
