Maryland state Sen. Roger Manno, a Democratic candidate for Congress in Maryland’s 6th Congressional District, announced last Tuesday that his congressional campaign was endorsed by C.H.O.I.C.E (Community Hub for Opportunities in Construction Employment), a Building Trades Union that represents thousands of skilled craftworkers in the building and construction industry.

MANNO ENDORSED BY BALTIMORE WASHINGTON BUILDING TRADES UNIONS (C.H.O.I.C.E.)
Silver Spring, MD – Today Maryland congressional candidate and State Senator Roger Manno announced a rare early endorsement from C.H.O.I.C.E., the North America’s Building Trades Unions affiliate throughout the greater Baltimore/Washington, DC/Northern Virginia region.
The endorsement of C.H.O.I.C.E. (Community Hub for Opportunities in Construction Employment) carries the collective weight of 28 local unions in the greater Baltimore/DC/Northern Virginia region, and represents tens of thousands of skilled craftworkers in the building and construction industry, including throughout the 6th Congressional District.
“While it is rare for the Building Trades to endorse a candidate this early in a primary,” said C.H.O.I.C.E. Executive Director Kirk Brungard, “the overwhelming consensus of our craft members is that you have been, and continue to be, an unwavering champion of Maryland’s workers. In light of your stellar record, we enthusiastically support your candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives.”
Twice awarded Legislator of the Year by the Maryland Building Trades, Manno’s record on Building Trades issues is well-known throughout Maryland and the larger construction trades movement. His relentless campaign to protect, strengthen, and expand prevailing wages, prevent workplace fraud and wage theft, his work advancing skills training through his landmark Apprenticeship Opportunities Act, and his tireless efforts advancing numerous large-scale projects under Project Labor Agreements throughout the region have all demonstrated his steadfast commitment to the working people of Maryland.
“From Aspen Hill to Oakland, workers need someone in Congress to stand up for them — and no one will ever work harder than me,” stated Roger Manno. “It’s a great honor to receive this Building Trades endorsement from the most highly skilled union workers in the construction industry: America’s Building Trades unions. I couldn’t be more proud to continue standing with them, and to have them stand with me in this critical congressional race for working people throughout Maryland’s heartland — the 6th Congressional District.”
