Former HUD secretary endorses Jain at-large candidacy for Montgomery County Council

Ashwani Jain to run for Maryland governor

Former U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Casto who served under President Barack Obama is endorsing Montgomery County Council at-large candidate Ashwani Jain.

Castro will formally endorse Jain, a Democrat, tonight at the home Sanjay and Vidya Govil in Potomac, Md. before a group of seventy Jain supporters, according to a statement released by Jain’s campaign.

The former HUD secretary, who is rumored to be running for president in 2020, called Jain, a former Obama official, a “champion for the families of Montgomery County.”
