Community Policing in Montgomery County

In the wake of the events that unfolded in Baltimore City as a result of the death of Freddie Gray and the subsequent arrest of six Baltimore City police officers, Change Montgomery County will work together with the Montgomery County community to develop solutions to address systemic issues that are rooted in our urban areas across our major U.S. cities.

On this episode of A Miner Detail, Ryan Miner will speak with Montgomery County Police, community and church leaders and government officials in an effort to dissect some of the issues that led to the riots in Baltimore City. Ryan and his panel will discuss how to work to bridge the gap between citizens and our police force and offer solutions to address the systemic issues plaguing our urban areas.

Community policing is defined as involving three key components: developing community partnerships, engaging in problem-solving, and implementing community policing organizational features. Explore the tabs below for more information on these central components of community policing.

Please join Ryan and his guests on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. for an invigorating discussion on community policing.
