Please take out your red pens and mark June 14 as the day the Maryland Democratic gubernatorial contest solidified its top-tier: Peter Franchot’s door hangers are hotter than a Somerset County clam bake in July.
In an email blast released shortly before noon Monday, the Democratic comptroller’s “people-powered campaign” issued “a major campaign update:”
“The first batch of Franchot 2022 door hangers are ready for prime-time!”
“Take a look at these new designs, which are coming hot off the press and are being distributed to voters right at their doors,” the Franchot team earnestly announced.
Mr. Franchot’s Flag Day email blast concludes its breaking news with a friendly plea for additional funds to get “more flyers out to voters in the coming weeks and months.”
What’s that you hear?
A thunderous rumble inside the Baltimore office of Tidemore Strategies.
The Franchot team must have received word that the self-adhesive easy-peel bumper stickers are in production.
Ready or not, here comes 2022.
