Explosions rocked the main airport and a subway in Brussels on Tuesday, killing at least 30 people. The attacks occurred four days after the capture of Salah Abdeslam, who is a suspect in the Paris attacks on Nov. 13.

Some of the CD-6 candidates issued statements about the Brussels attack via Facebook.

Amie Hoeber:

“This morning, evil again showed itself in the dastardly terrorist attacks in Brussels. Our deepest sympathies go to the victims, their families, and the Belgian people.

The cowards who perpetrated these attacks during Holy Week seek to destroy freedom and peace around the world. We must not let them. We must remain diligent and we must work together to prevent such attacks here at home. It is vital that we provide our military and law enforcement the resources they need to combat the scourge of terror.

This is precisely why I am running for Congress in MD-6. I have dedicated my career to the fight against terrorists and to preempting their under-handed and barbarous tactics. I seek to bring this experience to bear in Congress to ensure that our nation is fully prepared and that the Federal government is fulfilling its Constitutional duty to provide for the common defense. I am firmly committed to the safety and security of the United States and our allies.”

Christopher Mason

“If I get into Congress, I will work to crush ISIS. Islam is no different than the Shintos of Japan. Both are fanatics. It took dropping a nuclear bomb to stop the Shintos in WWII. I think it will take a great act by America to stop the Muslims.”

 Dr. Scott Cheng:
“ISIS claimed that they attacked Brussels, which killed 28 people and hurt 168. We must destroy ISIS and Terrorists. We have to try everything in our power to destroy ISIS and Terrorists before they attack our country, USA. America security is top priority. Dr. Scott Cheng, Republican Candidate for U.S Congress (District 6, MD).www.votescottcheng.com
“My prayers are with Brussels and the victims of these attacks. The United States stands with Belgium against terror. – John”
