[VIDEO] Our Revolution Congressional District 6 forum

The Montgomery County and Western Maryland chapters of Our Revolution, the Bernie Sanders-inspired progressive group created to educate voters on the issues, held a 6th Congressional District candidate forum on Saturday, March 3 in the legislative hearing room of the Montgomery County Council office building in Rockville.

The City of Rockville is inside the boundaries of the 8th Congressional District.

Congressional candidates were given a candidate questionnaire to complete prior to the forum, in which the two moderators – Randy Barber and Kaitlynn Sumpter – referenced throughout the event.

Sumpter announced at the conclusion of the forum that businessman David Trone, a leading contender to replace outgoing Rep. John Delaney, did not complete his questionnaire and therefore was not invited to participate.

Candidate George English also did not participate.

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) spoke for a little over eight minutes prior to the forum’s official start. An unscientific straw poll was conducted; Del. Aruna Miller won, with state Sen. Roger Manno coming in a close second.

A Miner Detail captured video of the event.
