The Brenengen Family, the founders and long-time operators of the Middletown destination, revealed in a Facebook post on Monday, March 4, 2024, that the establishment was sold to Frederick’s Hootch & Banter proprietors.

In a heartfelt announcement on Facebook, the Brenengen Family shared, “It is with gratitude and excitement that we announce an important transition in the life of The Main Cup.”

“Our journey has been one of growth, passion, and community… the Main Cup has been more than just a restaurant – it has been a gathering place, a hub of friendship, and a second home for many,” The Brenengen Family said.

Established in 2007, The Main Cup has become a cornerstone of Middletown’s historic downtown and has served as a beloved gathering place, offering an inviting atmosphere, high-quality, freshly-made American cuisine, and a commitment to excellent service.
