Shaun Porter is a protesting mainstay during the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns. From Ocean City to Hagerstown, he and his sign continue their presence in our public arena.
On 2/11/2021, County Executive Jan Gardner filed a peace order against Mr. Porter for a “threatening” email. Below is the full content of the e-mail.

Sheriff Chuck Jenkins testified on behalf of County Executive Gardner. He claims that Mr. Porter had a “propensity for violence.” No records exist in Maryland Judiciary Case search for any violent acts allegedly committed by Mr. Porter.
The final hearing is set for 3/10/2021 at 9:30 am.
Gardner and Jenkins did not respond to a request for comment.
